Sleep Problems

One of the first things to be affected by our mental health and well-being is our sleep.  In fact studies apparantly show that simply lack of sleep can even be the cause of depression in some people and also anxiety or depression can also disturb our sleep patterns.

If there are any emotional, psychological or practical issues or problems going on in life and then we don't sleep properly, this can then add to the distress that might already have been going on.  Lack of sleep affects our mood, our ability to concentrate and our tollerance of other people, work, leisure and general feelings about life.

Sometimes, the solution to sleep problems is pretty straight forward using some sleep specific interventions and if there are emotional, psychological or practical difficulties in life going on, sometimes professional help may be beneficial by way of counselling and psychotherapy to sort these out and this then has the knock-on effect to improve sleep.
