Psychotherapy for Self Esteem and Confidence

Confidence is not the same as self esteem.  In fact those who appear to be very confident often have lower self esteem.

When self esteem is low, it can be difficult to make the best of life. It interfers with choices, relationships and your general feelings about yourself and your life. Negative thoughts seem to grow and occur more often and anxiety and or depression or low mood can set in. Feeling bad about yourself can have many significant impacts on your enjoyment of life and negative thoughts seem to spiral and get embedded in the way you are.

Psychotherapy improves both confidence and self esteem as you develop self understanding, know your real self, improve relations with others and understand yourself bringing an authentic demenour, a self assurance and a feeling of wellbeing. Certain unhelpful personality traits or unwanted characteristics are often altered and changed for something better.

Exploring how others can affect how you feel is often a significant part of the counselling process in this area. This can include your past and current situations.
