I draw upon Humanistic styles of therapy which include:
-Person Centred Therapy -Psychosynthesis
-Reality Therapy -Transactional Analysis and
These involve working in the here and now, is based very much in reality, taps into our inner needs and wants, addresses how we communicate with others and also draws upon philosophy of life.
Psychoanalytical based Therapy aims to bring the conscious and unconscious processes into awareness which helps a person to feel more balanced. This enables a person to understand how these thoughts, beliefs and feelings are influencing themselves and their life.
Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy
REBT aims to address irrational thoughts, assumptions and beliefs that are leading to ways of living that might be causing issues in a persons life.
Neural Linguistic Programming (NLP)
Mindfulness based CBT
Psychotherapy is not all about negative stuff. Much of therapy can be enjoyable as you gain self understanding, acceptance, self empowerment and self esteem.
I sometimes use the ideas from Eco-Therapy style to inform some of my Psychotherapy and at times myself and clients have taken sessions outdoors or taken part in community activites.
