Autogenic training can be defined as a technique of medical therapy designed to exert a normalising influence upon mental and bodily functions.  It is a set of techniques that are often used to address psychosomatic disorders reduce emotional elements of anxiety & stress, partly by intervening in the flight or fight response by harnessing the power of the mind.  The holistic view is that these techniques assist in triggering the body's own healing response.


The techniques are drawn from Hypnosis, Meditation, affirmation, visualisation, Zen, Yoga and Progressive Muscle Relaxation Techniques.
